If there is one single thing that has both re-energised this fifty something and given life for me and my fishing a boost; it has been this initiative which, amazingly is entering it’s sixth year.
Fishing For Schools was formed after a meeting with Rob Gray - The Countryside Alliance head of campaigns, Media and ? director - after having been approached by Tewksbury school.
Since that time, we have delivered to literally hundreds of schoolchildren in schools throughout England an Wales. We have – well the initiative – has made a difference to those with learning difficulties; often young people with very serious problems, indeed.
The year ahead, promises to be even busier and this page will regularly update you all on various things that happen. But obviously working with young people brings it’s own care so do forgive us, if we seem vague or only show images that are both agreed by all the parties and are more fishery or instructor based.
That said if you do know of a school running the COPE modules (ASDAN) who would wish to embrace angling into the modules then don’t hesitate to contact Charles Jardine or the Countryside alliance Trust.
